Hello,
I think I did this right, but still getting the password lost protection on config backup and backup job encryption settings.
This was done:
1) config backup from veeam01. There was no Enterprise Manager on this server.
2) New clean install of Veeam on veeam02, starting with Enterprise Manager
3) Restore of config backup
4) Added the veeam02 to the enterprise manager on the same server
5) Checked if Enable password protection is enabled in EM and if it's active. It is. Also, when I try to install a license I get the message that the Veeam server is managed by the EM, so I know the connection is made.
I probably am overlooking something simple. Anyone has had the same?
Cheers,
Michael

Re: Procedure enabling password loss protection
Hi Michael
Do you have a VUL or at least a socket Enterprise Edition License? I think, if you can enable the option in the enterprise manager, then it must be the correct license.
Besides of the licensing question, it looks ok to me how you have done it. As soon as the vbr is added to the enterprise manager, the function will be enabled automatically.
If it‘s the correct license, could you open a support case by veeam?

Good call. It's a standard license. But the option is indeed there and enabled in EM, which is making this a bit confusing.

Your welcome
You are right. Would be helpful if it was greyed out without the required license.
