Hi All
I am in the process of finding out how to best setup VEEAM BR in my environment, i would like if possible to avoid having a local repository but instead backing up my VM's directly to my Cloud repository, from what i have researched that should be possible, but i am wondering how vmware will handle this type of backup, lets say uploading the full VM takes 1 hour will it put a lock on the virtual machine in this amount of time or how does that work?

Re: Question about backing up VM's directly to the Cloud
Hi M Larsen and welcome to the community!
Yes, you can store backups in the Cloud Repository using Veeam Cloud Connect, but prior to this you should find a Service Provider.
You will find additional information in the Veeam Cloud Connect section of the User Guide.
No, you won't get VMs locked during the backup process.
Please take a look on the How Backup Works article in the User Guide which is describing the process in details. Thanks!
