Hello,
on each customer Vmware Hardware Host we have one Win7 oder Win10 VM as a "Veeam Backup Server" for the daily backup jobs of veeam (storage is external synology)
Do you know of any huge / big advantages when using Windows 10 Pro instead of Windows 7 Pro?
I think there is only the risk of "Win 7 EOL, no further Windodws Updates" and no "further veeam Support for newer veeam version on old win7"
Thx

Re: Question about Win7 or Win10 as OS for Veeam Backup Replication
There's not much difference between the two systems in terms of Veeam B&R installation.

You can check release notes regarding any limitation. All listed there.
Beside this with Windows 7 you could run into issues when connecting to new services that support "TLS1.2 only". Windows 7 can not handle those. Postentially Cloud connect or S3 storages. So you need to do some extra work in that cases to upgrade Windows 7 with the needed configuration.
