Question: Malware Detection
Hi all,
I have a question related to Malware detection. I am using the option file masks to monitor. For me it looks like that in the created report is always an overview of the current status, that means all files are part of the report.
Example:
The option has been activated on Monday for the extension *.exe
There already 2 exe files on the VM
After the Backup on Monday the report is showing two exe files
On Tuesday i put an extra exe file on that VM
Next Backup on Tuesday.
In my opionion the report the next day should only contains the new added exe file.
If there is no change for the extension *.exe the next day should contains no intems for *.exe.
Is there a way implement that?
Kind regards and thanks for your help
Oliver

Re: Question: Malware Detection
Hello Oliver,
Thank you for using malware detection feature and for the interesting feedback!
Currently report (I assume you are referring to guest files analysis) is based on the items detected within the latest restore point, it does not take into account the historical overview of your file system as otherwise we would need to compare guest indexes across all existing restore points.
Mind me asking what's the use case from your perspective? You review every newly added exe file and once it's reviewed such file is not longer an 'incident' for you or your team?

Hey Dima,
Thanks for your quick response in this matter.

Yes thats what we are planning to do but not only for exe files we received from IT-Sec a list with round about 170 extension types. Therefore it would be great to have an overview with the newest added extension between two restore points.

Re: Question: Malware Detection
Hello Oliver,
We've agreed that it makes total sense, so the plan is to add such functionality in one of the upcoming versions. Thank you!
