Question re vmware encryption

Hi all,

Thinking of upgrading our VMware license to one that supports vm encryption (not sure which version supports that as still waiting on sales tech support to confirm but that is another story).

Any problems with using Veeam with encrypted vm's? I assume the only change would be that they would have to start over with a full backup since the entire vm image would change once encrypted.

Hello, that is correct. One other consideration is that only VDDK-based transport modes are supported. So no backups from storage snapshots, or Direct NFS. Thanks!

Yes, as mentioned above - only VDDK-based modes are able to retrieve unencrypted content from vSphere.
