Hello
i have a customer who has a SQL and Sharepoint Installation in their environment.
The Content Databse of the Sharepoint Server is located on a dedicated SQL 2008 Server.
Both VMs (SQL + Sharepoint) are backed up by VEEAM v8.
So here is my question:
How can i restore Sharepoint Items from the remote SQL DB during restore.?
Is it possible to attach the SQL DB on the other VM by using the sharepoint explorer ?
I know that there is a "Attach Databse" Button within the Sharepoint Explorer. But i dont know if i can attach a DB which is located on another VM than the sharepoint Server itself.
Thank you for any good tips on this.
regards
Patrick

Re: Question: Sharepoint Restore in B&R v8 with remote SQL D
Patrick, Veeam B&R should automatically locate the VM hosting SQL Server instance with the SharePoint content database during auto-discovery, provided that application-aware backup was performed successfully. If the database cannot be located, you can do that manually, using FLR.
