Quick Migrating a SQL Server hosting the Veeam DB
As above, how do I do this?
OLD: We have an old vCenter 6.0 with blades and an HP EVA SAN.
NEW: Starwind HCA with vCenter 6.7
Our Veeam server is currently a physical blade connected to a database on a virtual SQL server. I've been using Quick Migrate to move the guests between the old vCenter and New. However, I'm wondering what will happen when I attempt to move the SQL server that the Veeam DB resides on between vCenter, host and storage. Will the job fail as it can't write to the DB when it shuts the guest down?
I can't vMotion. Is my only option to back it up and restore it?

You could install a trial of Veeam Backup & Replication on another system (say a PC?), then shut down the Veeam Server VM, and do either a replica or Quick Migration of that. Basically, making another Veeam installation do the move work.

Or I guess I could migrate one SQL server, move the Veeam DB to it, quick migrate the other SQL and then move it back ?

That seems an option also. Will disclose, I live in a world where I make Veeam tools do all the work Meaning, I will prefer replication, Backup and restore, Quick Migration, etc. I love it when I can use a different B&R console to move things around "out of band" of the main B&R console.

Weirdo
If I had more time, I would do the same, but I'm on a migration schedule and this seems the quickest way to do it.

Here's the tool that might be useful in this scenario.
