Hi
Sometimes clients Vcenter stop working or needing reinstall ESX. We must installing Vcenter or ESX same ip address. Then all backup jobs make unusable. Because rescan server can not take the new certificate, thumbprint. This is understandable. But i cannot remove Vcenter or ESX server to the managed servers. Error Server is used by following jobs.
So i remove all backup jobs (off course so different backup settings inside). Then i remove vcenter or esx server. adding same ip addressed Vcenter or ESX. Then Re setting all backup jobs + map backup.
For example in the storage systems (Storwize) we are remove the hosts completely comfortable. Only is a warning popup about "mapped volume on this host, are you sure? Volumes doesn't affect this removal. Why backup jobs affecting Vcenter removal? Backup job settings is critical too.
Small companies is not problem but 100-150 vm is a big trouble.
Readding VM to backup jobs its simple. But setting whole backup jobs all in the details, its too hard.
Thanks.

You say rescanning the server doesn't work but have you tried editing the server instead of rescanning it? It should ask about trusting the certificate.

Yes rescanning doesnt work. You mean open server "Properties" and change nothing and jump the summary tab? I dont tried it. Soon as i can...
I'm suppose rescan button also work this way. So i can't try.

Mehmet, why not to backup the vCenter Server to avoid situations like that or in some cases it is easier to deploy it from scratch?
