Reinstalled Veeam Server - old backup and repl?
Hi,
i had to reinstall the Veeam server (which wasnt backed up). I have all the backups on a NAS so all good.
for the backups:
do i have to recreate the job first and import after or vice versa? will veeam be smart enough to recognize the existing incrementals and map them back to the job?
for the replica:
can i map the replica telling veeam there is already a replica server so i dont have to replicate the whole servers again?
thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,
What Veeam B&R server version are you at? In order to migrate the configuration to the new server, I would recommend using configuration backup utility.
Please see our on-line help center for further instructions > http://helpcenter.veeam.com/backup/70/v ... onfig.html
Thanks!

thanks Vitality again for your help.
i am on v7R2
also i cannot power up the vm with the previous veeam. I can access the vmdk thou.
Any way i can recover to the previous state without doing full backup and full replication of everything again?
thanks

If you can access virtual disks, then you can find the latest dump of the config files on the drive C in Backup/VeeamConfigBackup folder.
Yes, you can. If you do not use configuration backup files, then you would need to add your vCenter Server, re-create all jobs, re-deploy the repositories (run a rescan procedure) and then map your new jobs to existing replicas and backup files.myrdin wrote:Any way i can recover to the previous state without doing full backup and full replication of everything again?

If he can get to the old server can he just grab the sql database and point the veeam install to use it?

Yep, however importing Veeam B&R configuration is much easier.
