Remove backup service from domain
Hi
Looking to remove the Veeam servers from the domain. I can see a number of posts but couldn't find anything about backing up domain controllers when Veeam has been removed from the domain. Do I need to use agents on the domain controllers (VM) or is there a workaround?
Any issues or concerns removing the Veeam servers from the domain?
I know I will need to change the SQL configuration but any other issues if people have carried out this process?
Thanks

Re: Remove backup service from domain
Hi Paul, to backup domain controllers you just need to specify the account with Domain Admin privileges in the corresponding job AAIP settings, it doesn't matter whether the Veeam B&R server itself is a member of a domain. If the setup requires, consider using guest interaction proxies.

Re: Remove backup service from domain
Made a start on this
Veeam server is still in the domain and we have created a local account to connect to the repositories. For repositories that are part of SOBR when I run a rescan I receive error messages related to
"Failed to enumerate NAS backup metadata files Details: Agent: Failed to process method {NasMaster.ListJobBackups}: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again"
I am logged on as a local account with access to the storage repositories.
Any ideas what is wrong in Veeam and how to resolve this?

You've correctly noted that a support case is required here. I recommend asking our engineers for assistance.
