Remove proxy only from configuration

Post by mamosorre84 »

Hi,

is it possible to remove a proxy (and the Windows server object) from configuration without removing Veeam components (proxy, transport..)?

I have to remove a proxy from a B&R, but this proxy is also used in another B&R (and is itself a B&R server), so I don't want to mess it up!

Thanks

Hi Marco,

Not to mess up, you need to remove the proxy with all components from the 1st server and then re-add this computer in another installation. That would be a recommended approach.

Thanks!

I think you can do this by closing the network connection on the B&R Server and removing the Proxy there (only proxy role, not the managed server). If I remember right this will delete the entry then and you can establish network connection again.

Hi all,

closing network connection is a good idea, but not so elegant.. :)

I will follow Vitaliy suggestion, I think..old style! :D

For the future, maybe it could be helpful to have a "remove from configuration" button, as replica VM for example, also for proxy or other objects!

Thank you

This option makes sense only when you're sharing the same components between different backup servers. And this is not recommended, so I wouldn't expect this feature to be available soon, thanks for the note anyway!

I've disabled a shared proxy in a VBR console at one site and left the shared proxy active in another VBR console at a different site, no problems.
