Hi
We are planning on setting up a new dual datacenter server environment.
I was planning to setup VM replication from location A to location B.
However, we also have Nimble storage replication. It seems a bit off to double replicate the same VM's over the WAN.
IS there a solution in which we can replicate the VM's without having to replicate vm's twice? I really like the fact the VM's are registered at the remote location within vCenter.

Re: Replication question
I think this is possible with Backup from Storage Snapshots. This also works with replication.

Re: Replication question
You do not HAVE to use both types of replication. It depends on what you're trying to achieve and what set of capabilities want to have in case of DR (such as quick failover with a click in Veeam B&R console). Replication from the snapshot on a secondary storage is not currently supported.

Re: Replication question
we have a similar setup, with a few hosts at the dr site with a lot of storage. we replicate directly to the hosts from the primary DC over mpls, everything registered in vcenter and ready to go. we also have a fully functional domain controller at the DR site. thats important if you are relying heavily on dns.
