Replication Spanned throught RAID Disks and DataStores
We have just purchased a license for Veeam Backup and Replication.
We have two severs: one primary and one secondary. What I want to know: is there is way to span replicated VM guest volumes over physical arrays from primary to secondary server?
Unfortunately the physical RAID Disks to are not identical on each server.
For example, if I have a DB sever with the following volumes: C,D,E
C = OS holds o/s
D = holds misc data
E = holds more misc data
Then want to replicate each volume to:
RAID Disk 1: SSD array for C
RAID DISK 2: D
RAID Disk 3: E
Can I replicate these physical volumes to go across different RAID Disks on the secondary that might be more suited for the roles? If so can someone provide a link to documentation?
TIA

If you're after placing VM virtual disks on different datastores of the target host during replication, then this is possible (you can select datastores at the Destination step of the job wizard).

I am looking at placing local guest volumes on different physical RAID Arrays.
I'm guessing that is not possible?

No, unless each guest volume is a separate VMDK.

They are. However through the u.i. I only see options to copy datastores to datastores; not vdmk to a specific datastores.
Can you post a link? Or explain? Sorry but all my combing through documentation has failed. So I posted as a last resort.

What happens if you go to destination step, click on "Pick datastore for selected virtual disks" link and specify particular datastore for specific virtual disks?

Here is the online help page for more info on Vladimir's post > Specify Replica Destination
