Replication veeam agent

Post by matteu »

Hello,

I tried to create replication job from my virtual domain controller with SOBR backup source repository but I'm not sure this scenario is possible.
My domain controller use pre installed veeam agent to avoid veeam store credentials.

The only way I find is to replicate this VM without AAIP (if I don't want to store credential) but it's not a good idea for this server...

Am I doing something wrong or it's just because it's not possible ?

The message is : No restore points found. I have several backup for this VM on my SOBR repository.

Hi Matteu

You can't replicate a VM from it's Veeam Agent Backup Files.
Veeam needs VM Backup Files to use this feature.

I recommend to just install a second domain controller on the target host, if you need it for DR purposes.

Thanks for your answer :)

Second domain controller should be on the DR sites in several month yes but it's not yet.

Right, it's not the same backup file type :)
