Hi,
I ended up filling up my SMB repository due to bad space requirement calculations (my bad).
I have 3 main VM jobs with 14 restore points of (per VM) retention, and delete policy to deleted items data after 14 days.
Being in the need to free up space, i thaught i could lower the retention to 7 restore points with delete policy to deleted items data after 7 days...
Being fairly new to Veeam B&R (i inherited the infrastructure from a previous sysadmin), after reading the documentation and searching the forum i think i could follow this path:
- Disable temporarily backup jobs;
- Move the older chain (.vbk + vib(s) ) on an external disk;
- Rescan repository;
- Forget moved backups and dependent backups;
- Change the defined retention to 7 restore points + remove deleted items after 7 days;
- Re-enabling backup jobs
What i would like to accomplish is being able to import back the moved chains on the backup jobs in case i need them, at least for some time.
Can i import back a moved and forgot chain into a backup job in any way?

Re: Repository Full - Freeing up space
Yes, you can definitely import them in case you would need to restore from those - using the import backups functionality. Thanks!
