Request - replication, change default disk type

Post by mfinnigan_g »

By default, replica jobs will create the target disks as "thin". We would prefer it to default to "same as source" rather than have to edit every job we create. I'd love to see the target disk type default be a configurable option.

Hi Matt, Veeam B&R v9.5 will allow to preserve the source disk type ("same as source" option).

Foggy - the current version 9.0 will allow it, but it's a manual change for every disk. Are you saying that in 9.5 I can change the default behavior when I create a new job or add a VM to an existing job?

Ah, I see the case. Actually you can select multiple VMs there and change the disk type for all of them even in v9, however, not the default option.

OK - then my enhancement request stands as-is. I'd like to be able to reconfigure the default disk type.

I'll second this request. Please provide a way to change the default disk format for replicas.
