Post by fsavona »

Hi,

i've 10 CDP process (5 sec delay, 24hrs covered) every night i stop the process and make a storage flash copy backup (STORWIZE 5100).

In testing restore window from storage snapshot phase how can i restore cdp chain?

If i restore snapshot i restore last state vm plus journal how can import in cdp process for choosing chain time???

Same thing with a snapshot of replica vm.

If i restore from a snapshot multi replicated vm i can restore item only (for ex email rstore) from last state and i can't go back thru replica's versions.

I'd like an import CDP or/and import REPLICA from snpshot restored image vm

We will confirm few things internally and post back in the beginning on the next week. Just out of curiosity - your backup server is not VM running on the same storage, is it? Thanks!

In the disaster recovery situation, where everything you have is CDP target datastore that hosts replica VMs along with short-term (journal) and long-term restore points, you will need:

- On a fresh backup server add vCenter server that is managed target cluster
- Pass I/O filter management wizard

The wizard will discover previously installed components and then find existing replica VMs. After that they will become visible under "Replicas" node and you will be able to run failover operation to short-term and long-term restore points.

Thanks!
