If I get the .vbm .vbk and .vib files from somebody else that was backed up from there vCenter environment using their Veeam sever.
Can I "import" these to my Veeam server and then restore the machine into my vCenter from the backups?
-or-
Is there some layer of complexity (shift of environment, security, metadata, etc) that would prevent me from being able to do this?

Re: Restore Backup Files From Another Environment
Hi,
Thanks!
No, not really. You can even import encrypted backups. Is there some layer of complexity (shift of environment, security, metadata, etc) that would prevent me from being able to do this?
Thanks!

Re: Restore Backup Files From Another Environment
The only thing that is sometimes needed is that B&R Server version and update need to be the same or newer.
