Restore Speeds with Dedupe

Post by gingerdazza »

I'm trialing B&R v8, and I have a Windows 2012 R2 VM as my B&R server & repository.

I've run backups of the same VMs to a) a standard NTFS volume and b) a deduped NTFS volume. Oddly I'm finding that the dedupe restores (hotadd) run at least as quick as the non-deduped. Actually, faster! Struggling to explain this. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi,
I've run backups of the same VMs to a) a standard NTFS volume and b) a deduped NTFS volume.
What was the size difference between two backups?

Thank you.

Also, what are deduplication settings for that volume?
