restore to New Location

Post by pandrade »

Hi!.
(I´m using Vsphere 8 and VBR enterprise 12)
When select restore to new Location, in my case first change the Host:in example from 10.6.7.41 to 10.6.7.39. At then next step: Resource pool, appear by default "Resources", certainly It not have Pools defined; but if choice the option to change POOL, just appear the IP Host 10.6.7.39. Thus the question is: Which to select? ...Do not afect the original MV or another?

Also, in the next step to select Folder:By default is "vm" and if I change to see option y see "vCLS"....and once again, the similar question ¡Wich to select?...Do not affect the original VM or another?

really appreciate your atention!!!

Question: If backup made through vCenter or from a bunch of Hosts? Single Hosts or if you only have vSphere Std. there are no Pools. Even selected a wrong one you can move the VM later after the Restore is finished.

For the Folder its similar. Do you have created a folder structur within vCenter? The "VM" is the default main folder and vCLS is a internal one which holds the vSphere Clustered Server helper VMs. Its an automated created one.
