Restoring files from a backup copy

Post by marius roma »

A Windows VM is processed by a backup job and by a backup copy job.
I attempted to restore a file from the backup produced by the backup job and I had no problem.
I attempted to restore another file from the backup produced by the backup copy job and I got a message windows whose title is "Credentials" asking to "Choose user account to connect to the VM with".
Is it normal?
What credentials should I supply?
Regards

Hi,

You should provide credentials of a user who has rights to write those files and folders you are attempting to restore.

Thanks

Thank you for your message.

Do you mean a user of the VM?

Yes. Guest files restore to the original location will be performed using the account specified in the backup job for guest OS access. If it does not have sufficient rights to access the target VM, you will be prompted for the credentials. Specify user account and password, as required. For details, refer to the Guest OS Credentials section.

Thanks
