Restoring to VMware

Post by Itdweeb99 »

I have a physical windows server being backed up by veeam. I also have an esxi server running on the network. I’m trying to figure out if it’s possible to use veeam to restore my physical server to VMware and if so, what feature in veeam gives me this ability. Thank you

Here's the corresponding section of the User's Guide > Performing Instant VM Recovery of Workloads to VMware vSphere VMs. Thanks!

Thank you for the information. However, when I go to restore, click on agent, I see my options as entire machine restore, volume restore, guest files restore or application items restore. If I click entire machine restore, I have instant recovery as an option but it says that this restores server as a hyperv vm. I want to be able to restore as a VMware vm.

You need to be on v10 or above in order to use that feature.
