Restrictions on disk size for EC2 restore
Hi
Our prospect customer have question.
They run Restore to Amazon EC2.
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... l?ver=95u4
However their backup machine have 8TB disk, so the below error occur.
--------
Maximum system disk size supported by Amazon EC2 is 4096GB
--------
I've looked at the following Amazon documentation, but I don't know which limit it applies to.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/vm-import/l ... ereqs.html
Do you know detailed restrictions on disk size ?
Is there a workaround to restore an 8TB machine to EC2 ?

Re: Restrictions on disk size for EC2 restore
Hello,
as there are several limits for imports... can you tell me whether you try to import a Linux or Windows VM? How big is the boot disk? Is the 8TB an extra disk?
Your link already gives a hint for the 4TB limit.

Best regards,If you are use VMIE APIs (instead of AWS Server Migration Service), you will have to construct a manifest file for disks larger than 4TiB

Re: Restrictions on disk size for EC2 restore
Hi Hannes
Thank you for reply.
It's Windows physical machine and system volume is 8TB.
So we think we can't restore it to EC2..
BTW, is the manifest file construction something we can do ?
(I think Veeam Software needs to make adjustments.)

Re: Restrictions on disk size for EC2 restore
Do you mean that even with Veeam 9.5 Update 4b, could we change this limit by applying this registry key to the following locations in Veeam backup server and restarting the Veeam backup service ?
