I have a replication job which is running successfully (Full & Incremental) for VM (VM123) this VM is powered on at source (vCenterA).
The replica (VM123_replica) is created on a separate vCenter (vCenterB).
We plan to make VM123_replica live (after running a delta replication > disconnect NIC settings on VM123 > power on VM123_replica with NIC connected).
As part of our scheduled replication job the source VM123 is always powered on. For the purpose of making VM123_replica live - app support want the source VM (VM123) to be powered off so that we minimise anything not being replicated as they fear loss of data & also speed up the process.
Can anyone advise if it is acceptable to run scheduled replication for a powered down source VM that we normally previously replicated when powered up?

Re: Running replication for Powered off VM
Hi Michael and welcome to the community!
The recommended way would be to perform planned failover followed by permanent failover. That's guaranteed the most recent state of the VM with the shortest down time. Thanks!
