I have a SAP Oracle db server on which I had configured a SAP BRTOOLS backup job which was running.
I wanted to test the functionality of the backup job being controlled from the VBR server instead of SAP server.
when I was trying to create an Applicaition backup policy, initially the database was not visible. But after some trial and error, ( basically updating the agent from the VBR console ) the policy backup was successful.
But now the backup from SAP BRTOOLS is not working.
Also when we are trying to configure the plugin using the wizard, we are getting an error saying that the plugin is controlled from veeam server.
My question is it is possible to be able to backup from both SAP BRTOOLS and from VBR server on the same machine or only one is possible at a time ie either VBR server controlled backup or SAP controlled backup ?
Thanx
Anand

Re: SAP on Oracle Application
Hi Anand,
It's expected that you cannot change the plug-in configuration on a server that is managed by Veeam B&R. However, the manual backup of a database added to a policy from the source server must work, here is a corresponding section in our user guide. If it's not working, I propose to open a support case and to share its ID with us.
Thanks!

Re: SAP on Oracle Application
Hi Petr,
I tried on another server which was doing backups controlled by SAP.
I added to a application policy and ran a backup from VBR. The backup went through fine.
Then I fired a backup from SAP and that too went fine.
So there must have been some other issue in my previous setup.
Thanx

Re: SAP on Oracle Application
I think I found the issue as to why I was getting the error.
After testing the application policy backup from VBR, I had disabled it in VBR.
After that I had tried BRTOOLS backup from the SAP Server. I think thats why it was giving errors.
