Scheduled Job Duration

Post by aaloneftis »

Dear all

As an example, if I schedule say N backup jobs at 22:00 and half the jobs complete by then, will the other half still continue to run irrespective of how long they take?
Thanks
Alexis

Hi.

If I understood your case right, backup jobs will run without interruptions from start to end unless you specify a Backup Window.

/Thanks!

Thank you Egor. No backup window specified. It's an incremental job scheduled every day at 22:00 with a synthetic full backup every Saturday. I'll get back to you tomorrow after my jobs run tonight.

Hi Egor

I scheduled all jobs in batches in time i.e. 30 VMs at 22:00, another 30 at 00:00, another 30 at 02:00, etc, and all did run finishing before the next batch started. All ok and I understand from you that even if a batch went into the time slot of the next batch, they would still all be executed. Correct?

Thanks
Alexis

Yes, you could even schedule all of them to be executed at the same time - automatic resource scheduler will do the rest. Just keep an eye on the concurrent task limits for proxy and repository servers.
