Hi,
I have a 2.6TB VM I need to replicate to DR. I want to do a full backup of the VM to a USB device. I have never encrypted a backup file and wasn't sure if it is possible to see a replica from a encrypted backup file.
So the idea is to run the full backup with encryption to a USB drive. Mail the drive to DR and use the backed up encrypted VM to seed the replica. Is it possible?

Re: Seeding DR Replica from encrypted backup data
Yes, should be possible to do, given that you will be using the same backup console for replication and backup jobs. Please be aware that seeding operation includes restoring VM to the host, and then mapping source VM to the restored VM. You can always do this process manually.
