Seeking input from experienced Linux repository users
We are planning our first deployment of a Linux backup repository. We have some experience with Windows repository servers, but as this will be our first Linux backup repository, I'm hoping to solicit feedback from other users who are experienced with Linux and Windows backup repositories, in terms of comparisons, tips, caveats, etc. Any input?

Hi,
Yes, we have Linux experts registered over here, but can you give us a bit more details on the planned setup? What will be the Linux distro used? What file system type are you going to configure?
Thanks!

Re: Seeking input from experienced Linux repository users
We use Ubuntu 18.04 64-bit by preference. Storage is on zfs. I'm currently struggling to install the required 32-bit perl modules, for which I have opened another thread here:

Since no one has chimed in so far, I would recommend reviewing existing topics discussing ZFS repositories. Might be useful!

Ubuntu 18.04 should include all required perl modules and a standard install should "just work". Can you please share what issues you are having?

Agreed. My repo is on a CentOS 7 VM. Worked without any glitches...
