Hi all,
is there a white paper or other information available to understand and explain the logic used with storage snapshots:
- one or more VMs on the same datastore
- one or more VMs on different datastores
- VMs with vDisks on different datastores
thanks and regards
Erich

Re: selection logic with storage snapshot
Hi Erich, do you have any particular questions? The processing of multiple VMs on the same volume (the first scenario you're referring to) is covered in this user guide section. As for the two other scenarios, then the logic is pretty much similar - snapshots are created for all the volumes involved in the job.

Re: selection logic with storage snapshot
Main point is that Veeam processes VMs in the Job not storage volumes. So we research what volumes need to be brought into snapshot stage based on all vDisks of the selected VMs.
