service console

Post by menced »

do i need service console enabled to do incremental backups?

Mainly my problem is that I will upgrade from esxi free to essentials without reinstalling anything, so i will not have service console.

Is there any other features that can be problematic withoure reinstalling passing from 4.1 free to essentials?

No need to enable service console... frankly speaking, ESXi does not even have the proper service console, similar to what "fat" ESX had.
All it takes to go from free to Essentials is just updating the license file, nothing else needs to be done!

Thanks. I knew it could be a problem since service console was not on esxi. It is why I was afraid of having to install ESX.

Functionality of backups made from un "upgraded" esxi are the same of the one from a esx?
