Hi All,
Can someone please help me with the below queries?
Is it possible to restore a virtual machine to a new instance from an hourly snapshot?
Is it possible to restore a virtual machine from a nightly backup and then restore the latest snapshot to the restored machine?

Re: Snapshotting
It is a bit unclear what you mean exactly.
The VMware API process for backup create a VM snapshot (temporary) and we will read the changes from there. So for us it looks like a VM and we have this restore point of the VM.
When we restore, we will restore the VM to this stage.
We work on Incremental Block Level Forever. This means if you have multiple incremental backups, you can always restore one of these points (Whole VM, VM disk, files, Applications, DBs,).
If a VM has snapshots present we will igore them. If you backup a VM with 3 snapshots present and you restore the VM, you have no additional snapshot present then.
Hope this helps.
