If SQL Application Aware Backups is a requirement do disks need to be set to dependent.
We have some third party software performing SQL Database backups currently and we set these to independent so they would be excluded from the Veeam snapshots.
Would we need to change these back to dependent to use the SQL App Aware service?

Re: SQL Application Aware Backups & Independent Disks
The place (independent disks) where you store SQL backups made by 3-party software does not matter. To switch to application-consistent Veeam backups make sure that:
- 3-party software is disabled and does not perform SQL backups any longer
- SQL components (server, databases, etc.) reside on virtual disk of supported type (not independent)
Thanks!
