Strange timeouts on Veeam

Post by ibarizz »

Since a few weeks I have a customer facing timeout during this backups and replicas. Our support case is not going really well as we can't still find where is the trouble at all.

So far the logs showed us this:

[19.07.2023 12:04:38] <01> Info [AgentMngr] Checking whether agent '2e3c57ac-5915-43ac-943b-bbe51cd0cdc7' is alive on host 'proxyserver' with timeout.

It looks like Veeam manager can't check if the veeam agents are alive in our proxy servers or basically any windows server that is involved because this is also happening with file copy jobs.
We tried this steps with no results at all:

- Changed transport mode for our proxies. We used NBD, HotAdd and DAS. None of them showed any results.
- Reinstalled our Veeam proxy agent (Veeam Installer, Veeam Transport and Veeam DataMover). No results.
- Rebooted all of our Veeam componentes. No results at all.
- Checked all the needed ports in the environment, they are fine. Our Veeam and proxy servers remain in the same vlan by the way.

Good thigs is that we managed to get a workaround by using the Veeam manager as the proxy for all of our jobs. We had to increase the resources to make it happen, but we can't leave in that scenario.
Our support case is #06144288

Would be nice if someone had this issue before and send us any help.

Hello,

that's a temporary workaround and not a solution. Agree.

If the case is stuck, I would suggest to use the "talk to manager" button in my.veeam.com (my Spanish is not good enough to go quickly through the email thread :-))

Best regards,
Hannes
