SureBackup in env with many networks

Post by karapoti »

Hello,

I'm trying to show/prove SureBackup for a customer and was wondering how to get it to work where there are many networks / port groups involved (am talking dozens here). Does the proxy appliance need to be plumbed into each possible network that every VM to be tested is in?

Is the proxy appliance required to perform the ping testing? (think thats a yes)

Is there a way to have a single public IP / interface for the proxy appliance and it to be able to see all / any networks that get created as part of surebacup testing?

I'm also trying to understand if the proxy appliance is required when performing SureBackup testing of linux agent type backups. The logfile says 'timed out connecting to the helper appliance'

thanks!

The proxy appliance is a requirement for any network testing. You can connect a single appliance to a maximum of 9 networks (+ 1 connection to the management network your backup server is located in).

You can deploy multiple virtual labs, but only leverage a single virtual lab per SureBackup job.

Thanks.

When doing linux agent restore testing - is the proxy required? Or is the 'helper appliance' something else?
