SureBackups failing after VCSA 6.5 U1 update

Post by lightsout »

Hey all,

I've raised a case #02283823, but as vSphere 6.5 U1 does seem to be supported I was curious if anyone else has seen it.

Our ESXi servers are running 6.0 patch 5, and are unchanged. Veeam is 9.5 release 2. We upgraded from VCSA 6.5e to 6.5U1, and since then, all of my Sure Backup job fail:
8/10/2017 7:00:07 PM Getting virtual lab configuration
8/10/2017 7:11:00 PM Error Starting virtual lab routing engine
8/10/2017 7:11:00 PM Error Timed out waiting for proxy appliance to respond. Possible causes:
8/10/2017 7:11:00 PM Error 1. Appliance is configured to run on different network than backup server
8/10/2017 7:11:00 PM Error 2. Appliance is configured to obtain IP address automatically, but DHCP server is not available
8/10/2017 7:11:00 PM Stopping virtual lab routing engine
8/10/2017 7:14:14 PM Error: The operation has timed out.
8/10/2017 7:15:28 PM Job finished
However, there is no network problem. I can ping the Veeam appliance over the network and from the console it all looks fine. This problem started the same day we did the U1 upgrade, so I'm assuming that is the cause.

Anyone else seen/aware of this?

Have you tried to redeploy the appliance?

Yes I have. In one case it seems to have helped, in another no difference. We were seeing this on multiple Veeam servers.
