Hello.
I installed Veeam BackUp and Replication Community Edition (9.5u4) and added my vSphere into Inventory, then created BackUp Job for 1 VM.
I just noticed, that after creating Full BackUp via BackUp job or VM copy, my thin VMDK files was converted to vm_name.vmdk header file (1kb) and vm_name-flat.vmdk.
In vSphere if i open VM settings, it says, that disk is still thin, but in datastore browser there is no provisioned size, just full size of virtual disk for flat.vmdk file.
Is there any options to make available thin disks remain thin after automatic creation and deleting snapshot for backup purpose?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Thin disk converted to thick after backup job or vm copy
Hi Tim,
Backup job does not convert virtual disks of the source VM. As for the VM copy job behavior, then please take a look over here > Folder name in VM copy
Thanks!

Are you looking at replicated VM or the source one?ST1m wrote:Is there any options to make available thin disks remain thin after automatic creation and deleting snapshot for backup purpose?
