Three esxi but only two managed with vCenter - Veeam replication

I have Essential VMware vSphere license. I can utilize three hosts. I want two hosts to be in a cluster and managed by vCenter. The third host I don't want in vCenter. I want it to have separate login credentials and serve as a standby for the two hosts in the cluster. For security. I would like to use Veeam to replicate machines (_replica) at night. The _replica machines will be powered off and in case of cluster failure, DC lost..... they will be powered on - manually. Will Veeam be able to replicate machines to such a standalone ESXi if it's not in vCenter?

If I understand correctly, they won't be able to perform backups of VMs from the third host using Veeam because it's not managed by vCenter, but can replicas be created on it?

Yes as long as its been added to your VBR backup infrastructure

A standalone host can be added to VBR and the VMs can be protected.

I have a customer with such a constellation. The standalone Host is a "cold" one which means its fire up before the replication and Veeam shuts it doewn when the job is finished. From a Veeam perspective there is no CPU licensing needed because only where Veeam reads data needs to be licensed. This isnt a question if you convert already to VUL.
