Hi, I have an on premises VBR with a cloud repository.
My question is: How is the data transfered, if I make a backup job with Synthetic Full Backup activated.
Let's assume I have 7 restore points. So I have an Active Full Backup at the beginning and 6 incremental restore points afterwards. Now it's time for the synthetic full.
Does my backup server need to "download" the full backup and each increment, then merge it and then upload it again to the cloud repository?
Or does the merging to the new synthetic full happen on the repository itself? But how is the merge process done in that case (by the server that holds the repository?)
Thanks in advance for an answer.

Re: Traffic on synthetic full to cloud repository
That would be a frighteningly inefficient . No the repository compute assembles the synthetic full see https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110

Re: Traffic on synthetic full to cloud repository
Thank you. I thought so, but I couldn't find a definitive answer if there's a difference for cloud repositories.
