Update from Veeam B&R 6.0 to 8.0

Post by Kev »

Hi All

The time has finally come to update form our trusty Veeam B&R 6.0 to 8. Are there any known gotchas, prerequisites or known issues updating from such an old version? Are there any major differences in the way Veeam works. ie. from v5 to v6 backup proxies. Or is it just insert iso, next, next, next, install and everything wil just work?

Yes, this is the way to go. Consider enabling parallel processing to minimize backup window, since it will be disabled by default after in-place upgrade.

Thanks for all your help. We don't have a licence for 6.5 but we have one for 6.0 and 8.0. Would installing 6.5 be a problem?

v6 license should fit v6.5. Anyway, you can ask support for assistance with this.
