Upgrade options

Post by marius roma »

Given a Veeam B&R standard infrastructure currently running version 7.0, what is the best path to upgrade to a newer version?
Can we upgrade directly to version 9 or should we first upgrade to version 8?

Mario, provided your v7 installation is patched to Update 4, you can upgrade directly to v9.

Thank you for your message.
If the version is reported as 7.0.0.871 it means it's not updated to Update 4, is it correct?
So, what is the best path?

7.0.0.871 is the latest v7 build, so you're good to go directly to v9.

Your jobs will be fine. However before upgrading make sure to upgrade your license via the support portal ( https://cp.veeam.com ) as there is a new license for v9 compared to v7.
