Upgrade VC 6.7 to 7 with B&R V11

Post by jbodes »

Hello, in upgrading VC from 6.7 to 7, I need to rename the Appliance before upgrading. The VM name will still be the same, just the appliance name will change. Will this cause any issues with B&R 11 and existing backup & replication jobs and/or repositories? If so, anything I can do to minimize those issues? Thank you.

Hello,
I expect no issues.

To check after the upgrade, you can just go through the wizard again (backup infrastructure -> managed servers -> VMware)

Hello,
no that will not cause any problem because its the way how to do it

1. Rename existing VCSA to _old
2. Perform the VCSA upgrade
3. Refresh VBR inventory by clicking through the properties again and dont forget to reinstall the plugin trough EM
4. After a couple of days and when everying is fine you can delete the _old VCSA

Note:
If you Backup your VCSA with the help of VBR, what i assume, than take notice that this VM got a new MoRefID and is a new object from VBR perspektive. So besure that its backuped by a job

Regards,
Joerg

Makes sense and yes, do backup VCSA via VBR. Will proceed. Thank you!
