v10 Enterprise Manager failure

Post by stewsie »

Hi

I have noticed today that since upgrading Veeam B&R to v10 on the 29th Enterprise Manager has failed to collect data. Is this a bug as suggested at the link below?

https://www.tobbis-blog.de/veeam-enterp ... n-job-bug/

Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'platform', table 'VeeamBackupReplication

Confirmation from support that it is indeed a bug. Hadn't seen any mention of it anywhere

Hi Marco, yes, please contact Veeam Support and refer to the Issue #216941 - they will run a simple query against your EM database to fix this. Thanks!

I have something similar (repositoryId not Platform) on my test Veeam server. Did this work? Did you lose any data? I have an open case. Waiting to hear back. Luckily we did our upgrade on test first and will do production at a later date.

Steps to fix the issue (Case # 04184138 ):

1. Stop Enterprise Manager service
2. Please create "VeeamBackupReporting" database backup https://www.veeam.com/kb1471
3. Delete the column from the "VeeamBackupReporting" by running the command below.
ALTER TABLE [VeeamBackupReporting].[dbo].[C.Backup.Model.RestoreJobSessions] DROP COLUMN [platform];
4. Start Enterprise Manager service and start collecting data from Enterprise Manager and ensure there are no issues any longer.

PS: if you don't feel safe open a case!

Yep, even though it does seem easy enough, I wouldn't feel safe directly interacting with Veeam B&R/EM database myself, without support assistance. We recommend opening a case instead.
