v11 Upgrade fails - Database error
Hello,
I tried to upgrade to v11 today but the upgrade failed with the following error:
"The ALTER TABLE statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint '"FK_Backup.Model.BackupTaskSessions". The conflict occurred in database "VeeamBackup", table "dbo.Backup.Model.BackupTaskSessions", column "id".
The backup server was left in an inconsistent state and the setup rollback didn't work. The services didn't start after the failed installation and showed different version numbers.
I then removed all components manually but the error remained.
Support Case is opened Case #04648271
Has anybody seen this error?

Re: v11 Upgrade fails - Database error
Kindly, keep working with the support engineer on addressing the issue. QA team will also follow the investigation and provide an assistance, if necessary. Can you also provide the database within the support ticket, so that, engineers can take a look? Thanks!

QA team seem to have identified the root cause, but to confirm it (and provide a fix) we still need to receive a database from you.

Re: v11 Upgrade fails - Database error
The provided fix resolved the issue. The installation completed and everything seems to be working.
A first run of an incremental job showed a massive improvement:
Backup with v10a:
Duration: 26:12
Processing Rate: 108 MB/s
Processed: 166,6 GB
Read: 22,1 GB
Transferred:5,5 GB
Backup with v11:
Duration: 15:45
Processing Rate: 118 MB/s
Processed: 165.4 GB
Read: 25,5 GB
Transferred: 8,2 GB

Re: v11 Upgrade fails - Database error
Correct, we've implemented a large number of engine optimizations especially in v11. Good to know our efforts have resulted in immediate performance improvements for you.
Should other help be needed, let us know.
Thanks!
