v12.1 Entire VM Restore in Cloud Director Self-Service Portal

Post by hayliz » 1 person likes this post

Hello everyone, I have updated from v11 to v12.1 and have a problem.

The following infrastructure
vCloud Director: 10.4.1.21373066
VMware: 7.0.3, 19193900

The following problem
When I go to the "self service portal" via vCloud Director and want to perform an "Entire VM Restore" and select the option "Restore to a new location, or with different settings", I can select the new name and the new vApp. Then I click through to the end of the wizard. It then starts to restore. However, I notice that the original VM is shut down and it restores the original VM and NOT a new VM with the new name is created, as with v11 with "keep".

Using the VBR console with the same procedure, it works without any problems.

Can someone help me here? I don't know what I'm doing wrong here.

Best regards

Hi, I've heard about this before so it's a known issue. Please contact our support as they might have a hotfix already (or soon). Thanks
