Hello,
I need to migrate arround 200 VM from Hyper-V to vmware and I would like to automate it as much as possible.
When I did it once, I see this post actions to do :
1) Replace E1000 card to vmxnet3
2) Remove all ghost devices from Hyper-v vm in device manager
3) Install vmware tools
4) Reconfigure network
For 1) Is it possible Veeam restore VM to vmware with vmxnet3 nic adapter with powershell maybe ? I don't see this option with GUI.

Re: V2V hyper-v to vmware with Veeam
Hi matteu
We don‘t have a parameter for changing the nic type to vmxnet3 in a instant recovery session. Let me take it as a Feature Request.
As a workaround, I found a script in the veeam community. I don‘t tested it, but it should help you for the entire migration process and the vmxnet adapter. You should test it first with a single vm.

Re: V2V hyper-v to vmware with Veeam
I'm working on it but it's a good startpoint
I will change my process.
-Use veeam to perform the migration from Hv to vmware
-Add computer to active directory group to receive GPO to install vmware tools for domaine computer (workgroup + linux will be done manually)
-When vmware tools are installed, use powershell to export network configuration inside the VM
-Swap E1000 to vmxnet 3
-Perform cleanup for all ghost devices in device manager
-Import network configuration on vmxnet3 network card
-reboot to be sure everything is operationnal
I will post the exact script I make for this to work but it's in 2 step. 1 for the V2V and one after.
The script is not working to migrate network configuration because DNS are not exporting with netsh with OS > 2008.
Then, I don't have to use part to upgrade hardware version because veeam create it on the last possible version for the ESX.
