Hello,
I'm using Veeam B&R v6 and working on vSphere client 4.1.0 and 5.1.0.
My question is whether it is possible to test application layer communication bwtween proxies.
Detail:
I've created proxies successfully.
Pinging each other hosts is also ok.
Opening necessary ports is done well (maybe).
But I want to check the proxies can communicate each other on Veeam application layer
before creating and executing replication jobs actually.
Regards,

Re: v6 - proxy communication test
Hideki, you could run a test replication job with a small test VM to check that. Another way is to copy some files between proxy servers using the File Copy job, for example, and see whether the corresponding ports are used. Thanks.

Re: v6 - proxy communication test
The former method is straightforward but cannot be applied to my case,
because I'm forbidden to modify the production site before testing.
The latter method seems to work for my case.
Thanks a lot.

Re: v6 - proxy communication test
I understand your concern, hope you will be able to successfully test proxy communication and run replication then. Should any additional questions come up, feel free to ask.

Re: v6 - proxy communication test
If you are prohibited to create any small VMs in the said environment, you can setup a replication job with existing production VM, though, exclude every virtual disk it has. Then, run the replication job and see whether proxy servers are utilized or not.
Thanks.
Thanks.
