VBK edit during incemental

Post by Berniebgf »

Hi All,

Can someone explain what we are seeing here.

1. Perform active full --- VBK file
2. Perform incremental -- VIB created, but also VBK file modified at the start of the incremental - date modified change + data added to VBK.

My understanding has always been that the VBK file does not change or get written to during incremental? This also allows for Tape jobs to grab Full and Incremental separately with no awareness between the files.

Obviously we grab the metadata file every job.

Thanks

Bernie

The only thing different we have done is perform an Active Full manual kick off for the job.

NOTE: Running Veeam 6.5.0.109

Info: This only occurred during the first incremental, all subsequent Incremental and active fulls did not touch the initial active full.

Bernard, this should not be the case. Previous backup files are never touched during forward incremental backup. Please open a case with our technical support if you want to investigate the reason of the file change.
