VBR replication, effects of changing settings on replicated VM?

Post by cerberus »

Hi all,

Using VBR to replicate from source to destination, all works great.

Issue I am running into is, at source I had a VM with multiple virtual disks - I removed some of these as they are no longer needed, however I am finding that the destination does not update with the new VM settings.

In one of the threads (vmware-vsphere-f24/replica-job-doesn-t- ... 72662.html) Foggy confirmed this is expected "if something gets deleted on the source VM, this change will not get replicated".

Since the disks are no longer part of the VM at source, can I modify the replicated VM and delete the disks that are no longer at source? Will this cause any issues with the replicated VM next run?

I would open a support case and discuss this situation with support. They should have a guideline on how to heal this situation
