vCenter Migration Utility Partial Migration

We have a customer with hundreds of virtual servers backed up using Veeam B&R.
Our engineers have created a new vCenter server (ESXi 6.0 Update 3a (ESXi 6.0 Patch 5)) and have migrated about 20 migrating virtual servers to it.

Can the Veeam vCenter Migration Utility handle partial migrations or is it intended for hard cut-overs to a new vCenter? The hard cut-over is the only way I have thus far used the migration utility.
