Can I restore a single disk of a virtual machine in vCloud Director?

Hi AVIConsult,

Yes, the same way it is done for regular VMs.

Thanks

I don't see this possibility in vCloud Director. Only restore machine (machines tab), restore files (Files tab) or restore SQL database (Items tab). If you select restore machine, it does not allow you to select disks - only the whole machine. And there is no such menu as in the link either.

Hello!

Only the following restore operations are available via Self-Service Backup Portal:
1) Restore virtual machines and vApps to original location (preserving or overwriting the production VM or vApp)
2) Restore guest OS files to the original location or download to the local machine
3) Application item-level restore (currently, for SQL Server and Oracle databases)

Restore of individual virtual disk is available in Veeam B&R directly and does not differ from that for regular VMware VMs.

Thanks!

That is, I can contact the hoster and he can restore a separate drive, right?

That said, individual disk restore capability for our self-service portals is included in v10.

That would be a very welcome addition to the self service portal, great.

Are there anymore additions to the self-service portals in v10?
For example Application item-level restore for Active Directory objects?

Hi Mathieu,

The individual disk restore is the main addition for self-service portal in v10.

Thanks for the idea, we will consider adding it to our road map if we get a significant number of similar requests.

Thanks!
